Donors dinner at the Senate

by Equipe Fondationon 19 September 2016in Our news

The donors of the Foundation met for a dinner at the Senate, on Wednesday September 7th, 2016. Nearly 130 donors of the Foundation were there, including Jean-Pierre Raffarin (72) long term support of the ESCP Foundation.

During the event, Frank Bournois, Dean of ESCP, detailed the future evolutions of ESCP : the empowerment from the Chamber of Commerce, the development of the Bachelor on a new campus in Paris and the future 200th anniversary.

The need for a larger involvement of the junior Alumni in favour of ESCP’s development has been underlined through a testimonial of Marion Nakhlé Cerruti (12), Junior Major Donor of the Foundation.

Patrick Gounelle (72), President of the ESCP Foundation, claimed his support towards the School to fully cope with its challenges and opportunities. It is an essential investment for ESCP’s future in a environment of decreasing public subsidies and increasing competition between business schools all around the world.

The Foundation support to this process is only possible thanks to the generosity of the Alumni and corporate partners. This convivial moment reminded  the importance of the cohesion among the Alumni community for the future of the School.

The Meetings of the Foundation around Nicolas Petrovic (91), CEO of Eurostar

by Equipe Fondationon 5 July 2016in Our news

The fourth edition of the Meetings of the Foundation took place during a dinner around Nicolas Petrovic (91), CEO of Eurostar, on the 4th of July at the Cercle de l’Union Interalliée.

Nicolas Petrovic detailed his personal track, from his studies at ESCP to his current position at Eurostar. Then he explained the main stakes for transport in Europe : how does Eurostar position itself on  this evolving market (increasing competition, growth of new services etc) ? What are the future challenges of the european rail ?

Our speaker gave his accurate analysis on these very interesting topics. We thank him a lot !

The Meetings of the Foundation, a dinner series in small group – 3 meetings per year – around an Alumnus with a stellar record who shares his experience in his field of expertise, represents a priviledged opportunity of networking.

It contributes to the reinforcement of ESCP brand and to the proudness of belonging to our community. The number of places is limited to facilitate the discussions with the speaker.

The IOT Chair (Schneider Electric/Valeo) sees the light of day !

by Equipe Fondationon 24 May 2016in Our news

The IoT (Internet of Things) Chair aims to develop a better understanding of business and managerial issues related to digital evolution and the development of connected objects.

The IoT is a reality that affects many sectors: automation, cities, health, transportation energy, B2B and B2C. The IoT appears as a crucial component of the digital transition: objects now have the ability to transmit contextual information and be networked to communicate. This new ESCP Chair, under the auspices of the Foundation and with the support of Schneider Electric and Valeo, is born from the desire to support students, businesses and research professors in the investigation and understanding of business and managerial issues related to digital evolution and the development of connected objects.

The IoT Chair is a place for the exchange of best practices, thought on new IoT prospects and the conceptualisation of business cases: the ability to produce and disseminate knowledge on a subject at the forefront of the concerns of companies. In addition to teaching, the IoT Chair is a place for discussion and reflection on the economy of connected objects. An annual conference, the writing of case studies, communication in the press or in conferences, the Best Student Thesis, theses in the ESCP doctoral programme… The activities of the Chair will be many!
