Jean-Jacques Bienaimé (76) – 1st Alumnus with the title of ESCP Doctor Honoris Causa 

On Friday June 27th 2019, Frank Bournois (Dean & Executive President) and Valérie Moatti (Dean of Faculty) have awarded Jean-Jacques Bienaimé with the Title of Doctor Honoris Causa.

Jean-Jacques Bienaimé (76), CEO of BioMarin pharmaceutical has been awarded due to his exceptionnal professional career in healthcare and biotechnologies.

The success of BioMarin, has made the topic of a study published few weeks ago by two ESCP Professors Martin Kupp and Robert Sheldon.

Jean-Jacques started his career in 1981 at Ciba-Geigy – now Novartis – in France and in the US in 1984. Then, he joigned different main industries and became CEO of BioMarin in 2005. This firm created in 1997 and based in California, is providing innovative therapeutics to patients with serious unmet medical needs.

In a few years, Jean-Jacques Bienaimé managed to give an international importance to BioMarin. The firm has now 60% of its activity outside the USA, and its value has increased from $450M to $15billions in 2019!

All the ESCP community is very proud to have such a famous and important Alumni among its Doctor Honoris Causa!

On Monday 27th of May, near 60 Natixis’ Alumni have been gathered together with Marc Vincent (80), Christian Mouillon (77, President of the ESCP Foundation) and Brynhild Dumas (Executive Director of the Foundation) to reconnect the Alumni network.
Marc Vincent has shared some amusing stories about his years at ESCP and has mentionned a potential research partnership with ESCP about key subjects such as Gender Diversity and CSR.
The Foundation has also announced the launch of its new campaign: “See your name on the Bicentenary Wall”. Learn more.

Apply to the Blue factory ESCP startup incubator!

You want to become an entrepreneur? Join the Blue Factory ESCP startup incubator!

You can apply until Thuesday 28th May 2019. After this first step, selection interviews will be conducted for duration of 45min.

At the end, 10 startups  will integrate the class of 2019 and will be supported during one year by the Blue Factory from September on its premises in Paris.

You will benefit from the support of 40 mentors and experts of the Blue Factory, ESCP Professors, Alumni and partners. You can maybe also benefit from one of the 2 Malakoff Médéric Humanis grants.

In 2019, there is no separate declaration. You must declare your IFI with your income tax by completing the appendices and evaluating your property assets.

2019 deadline:

IFI declaration and donation: 

16 May: deadline for paper tax return

21 May: deadline for online tax return – departments from 01 to 19, Monaco and non-residents

28 May: deadline for online tax return – departments from 20 to 49

4 June: deadline for online tax return – departments from 50 to 976

 

Donations to the ESCP Foundation are tax deductible: 75% of your donation is tax-deductible in the limit of €50 000 which means a maximum donation of €66 667.
